Greetings from Kalymnos

Καλώς ήρθατε! (Welcome!)

We would like to wish you a warm welcome to our page, From Kalymnos with Love!

Behind the scenes, you find Christina & George. Christina is half Greek and half Danish, and George is born and raised in the USA but both his parents are Greek). At the moment, we are living the good life in Denmark, visiting Kalymnos every summer.

Our message and goal is simple: we love the island of Kalymnos and we would like to share every bit of our experiences and insight with you all.

Our Kalymnian family

Our families both have ties with Kalymnos, and at a young age back in 2005, we met each other in a place where we would eventually get married 13 years later.

In 2017, we set our eyes on the prize and visited the island together and planned our wedding. This was our first “real” vacation there together since the sparks flew back in 2005.

Although busy, we managed to experience the island on such a high level. We also created bonds and relationships with a number of small businesses that will last forever, giving us connections and even more of an idea of what happens on this island.

We visited again in 2018, which was a magical year as we tied the knot on the island where it all started. We experienced more on this trip and dug deeper into Kalymnos, discovering more of its pure enjoyment and serenity.

Falling in love with Kalymnos

Our most recent visit in 2019 just made us fall even more in love with a place that we were already head-over-heels for. The passion grew stronger, which motivated us to create this blog about this wonderful island.

We feel that we have so much to share with you all, whether if it’s about getting to the island, where to find the best food, or where to enjoy the most beautiful sunset. We work together, sharing our best experiences and insight on the island, and we want to bring it all to the surface, and share it to the rest of the world.

The place means so much to us both. Its culture, sights, smells, tastes and overall atmosphere is truly unique, as most of the Greek islands are. This one however, is special due to a number of things, as you will find out, so feel free to browse around and become intrigued and inspired.

We went to Kalymnos, with Christina being seven months pregnant in the crazy heat wave of July and August, and with no AC in the house! 🔥😅 That was tough.

In October, our beautiful daughter was born, and we really hope to baptize her at Agios Savvas next summer 🙏🏼💕

Despite the chaos of corona, we hope all of you have created many beautiful memories in 2021 ❤

Even though it's the first official month of Fall, it's still one of the best months to be in Kalymnos for vacation. The water and the weather is perfect around this time 😍

Καλή Παναγία! 💙 The 15th of August Καλή Παναγία! 💙

The 15th of August is one of the biggest celebrations in the Greek Orthodox faith.

Today we celebrate the Virgin Mary, or Panagia, The Dormition of the Mother of God. This holy day marks the occasion of the Virgin Mary's bodily ascent to heaven at the end of her life. ☦

The favorite beach among many, as the big sandy beach provides comfortable sunbeds with umbrellas, many food and drink options and calm weather (for the most part).

The iconic view with Telendos in the background and the many shops and restaurants just a short distance away, makes this place the perfect spot to spend hours of your day 😀

Relax. Swim. Sunbathe. Repeat. 👌🏼
